Pricing & launch optimisation in SyMAP
Find a stronger
pricing and launch plan.
Explore pricing and launch alternatives within your commercial constraints. Compare their international reference pricing, US MFN and revenue effects against your current plan.
Illustrative pricing connections using configured reference baskets and reviewed Middle Eastern, African and Asia-Pacific benchmarks. International markets feed the US MFN and GENEROUS benchmarks. IRP events connect the Netherlands, Greece, Portugal, France, Japan, Canada, Brazil, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the Philippines and Taiwan; dotted links show Italy’s informal referencing and South Africa’s international benchmarking. Morocco shows its six fixed reference countries; an additional country-of-origin reference depends on the product. The Philippines illustrates reference baskets used for selected medicines under price caps; Taiwan illustrates its ten-market reimbursement reference basket. Assessments continue when their destination is beyond view, with visible reference-market flows travelling towards the horizon. Markets beyond the horizon remain in each basket. Animation timing is illustrative, not a calendar of national assessments. No real product prices are displayed.

From a scenario to a strategy
What could you change
to strengthen the plan?
Optimizer Studio searches permitted alternatives through the connected IRP, MFN and revenue simulation. Define the commercial decision, then see which evaluated plan best meets your objective.
Your objective
Choose net or gross revenue, a price measure, or gross profit where your cost data supports it. Set the relevant market scope and time horizon.
Your boundaries
Depending on the study, fix launch dates, set country launch windows, protect price floors or limit how many markets launch each quarter.
Your alternatives
Explore prices, discounts or timing against your current plan. Follow the selected IRP and MFN effects through to the revenue result.
Inside SyMAP
See the alternative.
Understand its contribution.
Compare the launch plan, inspect the revenue drivers and explore the trade-offs. Then see the launch windows and choices behind the study.
See what changes, and what it means for revenue.
Compare the current plan with the best evaluated alternative. The Symara demo shows the changed market choices beside the modelled revenue difference, with the number of simulations and search progress kept in view.
See which markets explain the difference.
Review the US and ex-US contributions, then inspect the individual market drivers. The Symara demo shows how revenue increases in some markets and reductions in others combine into the net result.
The strongest revenue plan may differ from the strongest price outcome.
The search optimises your chosen objective. This view compares the evaluated plans by peak-year revenue, final-year revenue and final net price, revealing alternatives that perform differently on those measures.
Keep the launch search within your market windows.
Set the earliest and latest launch dates and choose whether eligible markets can remain unlaunched. These country sliders show eight markets from the Symara demo, with the current plan marked inside each timing window.

Five ways to explore the decision
Start with your question.
Choose the study that fits.
01Launch sequence optimisationWhich launch sequence improves our global revenue outlook?
Search within country launch windows, keep committed dates fixed and set quarterly launch capacity. Evaluate selected IRP, MFN and revenue effects, including no-launch alternatives for eligible planned international markets.
What you learnCompare launch dates, revenue and the markets driving the difference.
02Price sensitivityHow would a lower launch price change global revenue?
Evaluate a defined range of price changes at the intervals you choose. Compare each result with the current plan to see where the forecast becomes more sensitive.
What you learnSee the revenue response across the tested price range.
03Target seeking (goal-seek)What discount or launch timing would meet our target?
Set an absolute target or one relative to your current plan. Search a defined range of a selected lever, such as price, discount, launch timing or voluntary MFN agreement timing.
What you learnFind the lever value needed to reach the target, or whether it is unreachable within the range.
04Launch price corridorsHow low can a launch price go before another market hits its floor?
Vary one market’s launch price at a time, holding other inputs fixed. See the feasible range under your selected price floors and erosion limits.
What you learnReview feasible market bands and the limits shaping them.
05Multi-lever strategy searchWhich mix of prices, discounts and launch dates improves revenue?
Search interacting market prices, net discounts, scheduled price changes, launch dates and voluntary MFN agreement timing within the boundaries you define.
What you learnCompare the best evaluated combination with your starting strategy.
From the study to your next decision
Take the selected plan
back into the forecast.
Move from a promising alternative to a simulation you can inspect, compare and revisit as your assumptions change.
Choose the plan to investigate
Review the best evaluated plan, its revenue drivers and the trade-offs revealed by the comparison views.
Save it as a simulation
Save the selected plan as a simulation alongside your other forecasts, then compare its prices and revenue with the original.
Reassess as assumptions change
For studies based on your forecast setup, reopen the saved plan and revisit pricing, policy or launch assumptions before your next decision.
Questions, answered
A clearer starting point.
How should we interpret an optimisation result?
It identifies the best evaluated result within the study you configure. The result depends on the objective, permitted choices, assumptions and alternatives evaluated; it is a basis for reviewing your decision.
Does optimisation use patient-driven forecasts?
Current Optimizer studies use dataset volume forecasts and require Patient Forecasting to be switched off. Patient-driven volumes are available in the integrated forecasting workflow. Explore patient and revenue forecasting.
Does a study optimise all the comparison measures at once?
No. A study optimises the objective you select. The launch-plan comparison views show how evaluated alternatives perform on other measures, such as peak-year revenue, final-year revenue or final-year net price, so you can assess the trade-offs.
Can the search include US MFN and international reference pricing?
Yes. Launch and strategy studies can evaluate the selected IRP, MFN and revenue scope together. The markets, policy assumptions and choices depend on the study you configure.
Can we test an existing plan?
Yes. Start from your configured forecast and compare alternatives with that baseline. For studies based on a forecast setup, strategy replay checks a selected strategy against updated assumptions without starting a new search.
